Like a good parfait, lighting has layers. We love parfaits – and we love lighting design. So, we specialize in custom lighting installations and have many years of expertise. Understanding how light works in terms of both ambiance and function is crucial to a successful design. Knowing how to achieve lighting objectives by selecting and properly installing fixtures is equally vital.
When we think about illuminating a room, we consider three types of lighting: general purpose, task spots, and accents. Harmonizing the relationships between those three lighting types is where advanced design shines. General lighting can be provided by recessed cans, which provide an even layer of light. Work or reading areas need attractive task lighting to illuminate surfaces. Artfully selected accent lighting, such as lamps, pendants, and chandeliers, creates a room’s unique ambiance. Rail lighting, artwork spotlights, and undercabinet lighting highlight a room’s prized features or add a measure of safety. We can talk with you about installing new smart technology and energy-saving LED lighting, and we can install voice-activated night lights so you’re never in the dark. Got an old, beloved lava lamp collecting dust? If that’s your idea of the parfait’s cherry on top, we’ll make certain there’s a safe outlet where you can plug it in.
